Can you believe the year is almost done? It went by so quickly. September just seemed to breeze by just as fast and I tried to enjoy every second of it. September was quite entertaining, literally. Here's the rundown.
Purple Rain presented by Cinespia: Hollywood Forever Cemetery
I started the month celebrating my good friend and Kat Kreation's(www.katkreate.com) photographer Bianca's 30th birthday by attending a screening of Purple Rain at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery hosted by Cinespia. It was probably the coolest and creepiest event I've ever attended. There is a huge lawn dedicated to film screening filled with patron's openly enjoying picnic baskets of wine, cheese, and everything in between along with some of Hollywood's late and great spirits, like Toto the dog from the Wizard of Oz. You couldn't help but apologize to the gravesites as you passed through the cemetery. The event opened with Questlov…
We all know I love new music like I love a new weave! Don't judge!
I am currently listening to Audio Justice by Artist Kes. Kes hails from Compton by way of Orange County. The singer/songwriter is so musically creative. To give you a mental picture of Kes's sound just imagine that Prince had a baby with Frank Ocean and Pharrell was the babysitter/music teacher, pure AWESOMENESS right?
I'm in love with The Audio Justice EP which features five tracks of funky soul bass beats infused with 80's punk rock and new age hip-hop.With lyrics like, "don't be throwing stones here in this glass house/cause if it comes crashing down/ it'll kill the both of us! on the track Redemption has me saying MESSAGE when it comes to the heart felt ballad. The EP also features Kes's rendition of Lisa Lisa's "I wonder if I take you home", on the song Horses, which can easily be a boys anthem with lyrics like "Horses make her horny" as the catchy hook.
mya is by far one of my favorite artists and I feel like she's so underrated and often forgot about with the newest popstars on the scene. not to discredit their talent at all but I just love her swag as an artist.
on her latest album k.i.s.s. (keep it sexy and simple) she has a song entitled "mess up my hair" which is my fav song on the album...does it sound like drake and rhianna's "what's my name?'' sure ....a little BUT she adds her own flavor to it which I simply cant get enough of!
so tell me ladies, how do you feel about a guy messing up your hair? lol mya has some natural tresses that are absolutely gorgeous so I'm sure she has no problem having her hair messed up...but to all my wig, weave natural rocking ladies with HIGH maintenance hair, what are your hair protection tactics? and do these tactics allow you to keep it sexy??????
singing: "go baby, imma let my hair down" :) click play!
