Cassie's RockaByeBaby Mixtape, Are you sleep?

Cassie released her mixtape RockaByeBaby after experiencing some chart success this year from her studio single King of Hearts.

I've been a Cassie fan since the release of her track Kiss Me ft. Ryan Leslie. But since then we've heard little from her from a music perspective. We've definitely heard of her and her personal life, but she's had  no real musical presence. In fact, although Cassie has been in the music game for quite some time she's only released one commercial album self titled Cassie in 2006. For reasons being focusing on her modeling career? I say yes! As beautiful Cassie becomes the face of Forever 21.

For those reasons I was excited to hear new music from her.

Is she an amazing vocalist? Not really, but she understands how to make hits that are catchy by seeking out great production. I think the production is in fact what makes the mixtape good. Although, the beats overpower her soft vocals, it also makes the songs catchy and worth listening too a few times.

She teams up with the likes of Fabolous, Jeremih, French Montana, Wiz Khalifa, Meek Mill, Esther Dean  and even Too Short. Great features incorporated with great production and mediocre vocals makes for a solid body of work. For that reason the RockaByeBaby mixtape could very well serve as her official sophomore album.

My favorite track is Sound of Love ft. Jeremih, even though his presence on the song sort of overshadows her mellow sultry voice. Literally, once he starts singing Cassie's verse isn't that memorable, because he drowns her out. Nonetheless the song is as sexy as the title sounds.

I found myself bopping my head throughout the entire mixtape. Its smart and its definitely creating a buzz and anticipation for her studio album which is the purpose of mixtapes, right?

In the essence of this blog let's take a look at some of Cassie's (iconic) hairstyles over the years, one of which has these chicks out here looking crazy. She's so gorgeous, that's undeniable!
