Watch out: The Release of Ace Da Youngin's Big Brother Mixtape

Hey HairyKats,

I come to you once gain with new music.

It seems these days that rap and hip-hop have taken a turn of overly braggadocious, misogyny that has/is belittling the essence of art form, of thought and expression, better known as the social norm.  With my diminishing faith and hope in the art form that is hip-hop music I find a little glimpse of life in newer artist like Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore, and Ace Da Youngin.

Ace Da Youngin dropped his Big Brother mixtape today, April 10th. It is one of the most refreshing pieces of work I've heard in a long time. I like that its well thought out,  from the flow of the overall mixtape song to song ,to the lyrical content and metaphors on each track.  Its not just pointless simple rhyming. Its 12 well executed tracks of quality lyrics over quality production. This could very well be a successful commercial album.

He gives us vivid examples of the difference between "rappers and artists" by defining himself  as a true artist by blessing us with his craft of lyrical word play. Ace is a force to be reckoned with from a lyrical perspective: With lyrics like "I'm from where they leave shells/you would think that its easter" and "Any given time had the illest shit out the speakers/ I steam pressed that track/turn the booth into a cleaners"

I think the underlying theme of the mixtape is genius calling its listeners to do away with the constraints of the social norms and conformist expectations of what we're supposed to be as people and open our minds, to be thinkers, to not allow "big brother" to control us through what we're fed via social media, especially music.
