let me tell you I am definetly a music addict. I live for tuesdays! there's no greater feeling than falling in love with new music and when I can't get my fix or not interested in new releases I'm over at  http://www.datpiff.com/ searching for mixtapes.

My favorite mixtape/album this month is Rich Forever By Rick Ross:

Being a working class single mom trying to pay off school loans and uncle sam and still enjoy my life, hearing rappers talk about how much money they've grossed from selling drugs to muy pucci lucci dookey and them I get a little bored of the braggadocious-ness on every track BUT at the end of the day its entertainment and this is exactly what this mixtape does!

further more each  and everyone is a hustler we just have different ways of  going about it. can I relate to delivering kilos to papi? NO LOL! but I can relate to working all day and night to live your dreams and your reality AT THE SAME TIME! hells yea!

Anywho, I am a huge fan of rap and hip-hop music and I am very picky about what's in my ears.For an album to make it on my favorites list I use my accountant skills by taking the number of songs on the album and dividing that number by the number of songs I actually liked....to determine if its good or not, so if the album has the standard 17 to 19 songs and if I liked 4 of them its an ok album...lol NERD!

Let me tell you I've listened to this mixtape from beginning to end a couple of times in a day when... the kid isnt around of course!

This mixtape is seriously album quality. I love the mixtape game in general! Its taking us back to when dudes were recording in their closets and handing out cassettes talking about listen to my demo. Artists are going around their A/R to get back to their hungry days when they were free to do it their way.

oh and wale featured on rich forever has evolved as an artist hasn't he?....is he the same wale my best buddy introduced me to in 06 when he tried to convince me I'd like him better than wayne? no! ..but I guess as your experiences in life transcend so do the things you talk about...I not mad at him!  "CALL IT ANGLO-SAX" LOL

The show Empire premiered tonight on Fox. It stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard. Terrence plays a music mogul Lucious working to build an Empire/Legacy for his children while being troubled by the transgressions of his past one of which, is Taraji's character, Cookie, his ex-wife being released from jail after doing 17 years on his behalf. He also struggles with the present state of his health ( btw please no ice bucket challenges for fictional characters! he has ALS), which is the driving force behind his ambition of creating a legacy for Empire. Veronika Bozeman gave us the opening vocals as an Empire Artist, and boy was it beautiful, even when she was made to sing it over! I found the show to be entertaining although I couldn't help but feel like it was a continuation of the movie Hustle Flow lol. I kid. Kind of, I think it was Terrence Howard's hair! Single Mom Travels (it's kind of a long read, so grab a snack!)

Well Hello There Readers! I've been on a writing hiatus but I've got the sudden urge to blog. A few weeks ago I was hanging out with my son and realized that as far as I'm concerned we have a pretty unique experience in terms of the way we go throughout our daily lives. I realize there's this stigma that as a single parent life becomes so limited and in many aspects this has proven true. However, I've also discovered my own ways to live and provide my child with a happy fulfilling life. There is nothing that can truly distract my child from the absence of his father, but as his mother I've vowed to make his childhood experiences as meaningful as possible in the hopes of presenting to society a well rounded, open minded, curious, fearless, adult. With all that being said, traveling alone and/or with your child are one of those single parent stigmas I was talking about. We Heard, We Saw, We Conquered: The September Lookback

    Hey HairyKat's , (please excuse any typos.) Can you believe the year is almost done? It went by so quickly. September just seemed to breeze by just as fast and I tried to enjoy every second of it. September was quite entertaining, literally. Here's the rundown.  Purple Rain presented by Cinespia: Hollywood Forever Cemetery I started the month celebrating my good friend and Kat Kreation's( www.katkreate.com ) photographer Bianca's 30th birthday by attending a screening of Purple Rain at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery hosted by Cinespia. It was probably the coolest and creepiest event I've ever attended. There is a huge lawn dedicated to film screening filled with patron's openly enjoying picnic baskets of wine, cheese, and everything in between along with some of Hollywood's late and great spirits, like Toto the dog from the Wizard of Oz.
